In collaboration with Enterprise Ireland, the IBNI organised a networking event for the members on the theme of “Breaking Barriers: Accessibility as a Business Advantage”.
Gavin Henrick, CEO & Co-founder of Brickfield Education Labs, provided insight into the business benefits of inclusivity based on the European Accessibility Act.
Brickfield Education Labs is an Irish digital technology company, based in Waterford, specialising in accessibility and inclusive learning solutions. Through its online learning platform and consulting services Brickfield helps organisations improve digital accessibility, create more inclusive user experiences whilst meeting evolving accessibility standards.
Gavin’s presentation demonstrated that accessibility goes beyond compliance to help organisations reach more customers, improve employee experience, reduce friction and create quality digital products and services. With a focus on quality of content, he gave us practical examples of how easily barriers can unknowingly be created by organisations in their communication materials and again how easily small changes can remove common barriers, promote inclusion and produce business value. We all went away with our Brickfield Accessibility Toolkit cubes containing 18 simple tips to remind us on how we can avoid making simple errors.
The presentation was followed by a lively networking aperitivo on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Milan skyline.
