Recently the IBNI Youth Chapter held its launch event. The event included speeches from the Consul General, Maria Sheehy; IBNI President, Orla Ralph; and IBNI Youth Lead, Lucy Mulcahy.
During the evening, we played networking games such as “Networking Bingo” and finished the evening with a raffle kindly sponsored by Tourism Ireland.
The IBNI Youth Section offers support to young professionals between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. While there are a number of active Irish community and cultural groups across Italy, a gap has been identified for a network to support young professionals starting out in their careers.
The Irish Business Network Italy (IBNI) is a well-established association that connects Irish and Italian businesspeople in Italy through a series of events. As approved by its Steering Committee, the association is well placed to provide a governance structure and support for a young professionals’ network that addresses this gap.
The aim of the Youth Section within the network is to develop a community of young Irish professionals and support them in their transition to life in Italy and in their career development. Moreover, the network aims to connect those who have previously lived in Ireland and now reside in Italy, as well as those with an interest in Ireland. This is in line with the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Diaspora Strategy and in keeping with the objectives of the IBNI.
The IBNI Youth Section would like to thank our sponsors, Alberto Rizzini and Tourism Ireland, who kindly contributed to the event.
