As part of the Irish National College of Art & Design (NACD) Alumni Connectivity Campaign, members of the IBNI Steering Committee were invited to attend presentations by two of their graduates at the Fabbrica del Vapore during 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑫𝑬𝑷𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬, an exhibition organised by NCAD partner Politecnico di Milano to showcase work from alumni and students of leading art and design schools across the globe. This year, NCAD was represented by alumni 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝘆𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻-B𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲 (Textile & Surface Design) and 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆 (Product Design). Their presentations were based on Irish hand weaving traditions and the responsible use of AI in design. A panel discussion followed on these themes chaired by the Head of School of Design, Professor Alex Milton, and Head of the Department of Body and Environment, Angela O’Kelly.
